Fried Gator Tail
Ingredients:
- 1 lb alligator meat (tail or filet), cut into 1-2 inch pieces
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
- Soak the alligator pieces in buttermilk with hot sauce for 2-4 hours in the fridge.
- Mix the Cajun seasoning and flour together.
- Heat oil in a deep pot to 350F degrees.
- Dip the alligator pieces in the flour mixture and gently place them in the oil. Cook for 5-8 minutes until golden brown on the outside.
- Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve with Cajun remoulade sauce or dip in ranch dressing.
Steak Fries
Ingredients:
- 2-3 large potatoes
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Optional: garlic powder, paprika, chili powder
Instructions:
- Cut the potatoes into long, thin strips.
- Heat the oil in a deep frying pan or a deep fryer to 350F degrees.
- Fry the potatoes in batches until they are golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
- Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and any other desired seasonings.
- Serve hot.
