Fried Gator Tail
Ingredients:

  • 1 lb alligator meat (tail or filet), cut into 1-2 inch pieces
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Soak the alligator pieces in buttermilk with hot sauce for 2-4 hours in the fridge.
  2. Mix the Cajun seasoning and flour together.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pot to 350F degrees.
  4. Dip the alligator pieces in the flour mixture and gently place them in the oil. Cook for 5-8 minutes until golden brown on the outside.
  5. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve with Cajun remoulade sauce or dip in ranch dressing.

Steak Fries
Ingredients:

  • 2-3 large potatoes
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder, paprika, chili powder

Instructions:

  1. Cut the potatoes into long, thin strips.
  2. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan or a deep fryer to 350F degrees.
  3. Fry the potatoes in batches until they are golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  5. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and any other desired seasonings.
  6. Serve hot.
