- 3/4 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Pizza Sauce:
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Toppings:
- 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 medium-sized tomato, thinly sliced
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup baby spinach leaves
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or a blend of your favorite cheeses
Instructions:
For the Pizza Dough:
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Stir until the dough starts to come together. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
For the Pizza Sauce:
- In a bowl, mix together tomato sauce, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
Assembling and Baking:
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or a baking sheet.
- Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Arrange the sliced bell pepper, red onion, tomato, mushrooms, and spinach evenly over the sauce.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the toppings.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve.
