Ingredients:
For the Pizza Dough:
1 package (about 2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
3/4 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Pizza Sauce:
1 cup tomato sauce
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Toppings:
1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 red onion, thinly sliced
1 medium-sized tomato, thinly sliced
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1 cup baby spinach leaves
1 cup shredded mozzarella or a blend of your favorite cheeses
Instructions:
For the Pizza Dough:
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
Stir until the dough starts to come together. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
For the Pizza Sauce:
In a bowl, mix together tomato sauce, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Adjust the seasoning to taste.
Assembling and Baking:
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or a baking sheet.
Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
Arrange the sliced bell pepper, red onion, tomato, mushrooms, and spinach evenly over the sauce.
Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the toppings.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve.
