Ingredients:
- 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
- 1/2 head green cabbage, cored and chopped into 1-inch pieces
- 6 slices of bacon, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Instructions:
- Cook the bacon in a large cast-iron skillet over medium heat until browned, about 10 minutes.
- Remove the bacon from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Add the onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Add the cabbage, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt and pepper to the skillet.
- Cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until the cabbage is tender and lightly browned.
- Return the bacon to the skillet and stir into the cabbage.
- Serve warm.
