Air fryer pineapple is a healthy fruit dish to serve as a side to accompany your meals, as a dessert, or as an appetizer for parties and potlucks. They are easy to make and turn out absolutely delicious and juicy.

Ideally, you can sprinkle any kind of spices, brown sugar, or coat it with butter. However, to make healthy air fryer pineapple, I usually just sprinkle it with some spice or even without anything! They are just perfect as is.


To make this air fryer pineapple recipe, all you need is a fresh ripe pineapple. You can use store-bought pineapple slices as well if you do not want to cut the pineapple yourself.

Depending on your preference, you can sprinkle some cinnamon powder or red chili powder for a little hint of spice. If the pineapple is not sweet enough, you can add some brown sugar while cooking, it will also caramelize the slices as it melts.


The thought of cutting a pineapple can stop you from buying a fresh pineapple. Even though it may look and sound daunting, it is quite easy to cut a pineapple, especially with the help of a pineapple cutter or corer.

First, remove the stalk by twisting it, and then cut the ends of the pineapple from the top and the bottom. Now insert the pineapple corer and keep rotating it until it reaches the bottom of the pineapple.

Carefully, pull the corer out and you will see how amazing the pineapple rings are. On a cutting board, slice them with a sharp knife to separate out the rings and then cut them into halves if needed. You can keep them as whole slices and still air fry them.

Cooking pineapple in the air fryer is really easy. Once you have cut the pineapple into slices or chunks, preheat the air fryer to 390° F. I have used my Instant Vortex Plus air fryer and once it is preheated, it will prompt me to add the food.

While the air fryer is preheating, you can add some spice on top of the pineapple slices. I like them with a little bit of red chili powder and cinnamon powder so I sprinkle them each on some slices. Kids do not like any spices, so I roast them plain for them.

Once the air fryer is preheated, place the pineapple pieces in the air fryer basket in a single layer. You might have to cook them in multiple batches depending on the capacity of your air fryer.

Air fry the pineapple chunks at 390° F for about 8 minutes. Once they are done, you will start seeing some golden spots on the top of the pineapple and it will no longer look juicy from the top. This is a good sign that the pineapples are done.

You do not want to overcook, else they will start dehydrating and you will start seeing some white dry spots on the top and it will also become hard as it will lose its moisture.

Serving suggestions

Air fryer roasted pineapple is delicious. I just love the little hint of spiciness and the cinnamon flavor. It can be served as a side dish with your meals, as a dessert, or as a starter for parties and potlucks.

You can also enjoy it as a quick snack or can serve it to kids after school. One of my favorite ways is to top it on some vanilla ice cream. It can also be topped on the banana split sundae just without any kind of spices added.


To be honest, roasted pineapple is absolutely irresistible! It will be gone in a matter of minutes once it is out of the air fryer. However, at times if you have any leftovers, you can just store them in the fridge in an airtight container for 2-3 days.

When you are ready to eat it, you can enjoy it cold, or warm it up a little in the microwave or in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes.

Air fryer pineapple is a healthy, vegan, and gluten-free dish to serve as a side, dessert, or just munch on as a snack. It is very easy to cook fresh pineapple slices in the air fryer in a matter of minutes and they are best served hot.


  • Air Fryer
  • Kitchen tongs
  • Pineapple corer


  • ▢1 count Pineapple (cored, sliced, and halved)
  • ▢¼ teaspoon Red chili powder (more if needed)
  • ▢½ teaspoon Cinnamon powder (more if needed)


  • Preheat the air fryer at 390 °F.
  • Sprinkle red chili powder on half of the pineapple slices.
  • Sprinkle cinnamon powder on the remaining half of the pineapple slices.
  • Place the pineapple in the air fryer (do not overlap).
  • Air fry for about 8 minutes.
  • Carefully transfer the roasted pineapple slices into a serving tray with the help of kitchen tongs.
  • If there are more slices, then place them in the air fryer in a similar way and cook for 8 minutes.
