Vegan Cabbage Patties/Fritters.

4 cups of cabbage finely chopped

3 garlic cloves finely chopped

1 small onion finely chipped

2-3 tablespoons parsley finely chopped

salt and black pepper to taste

2 tablespoons all purpose flour

You can use a food processor to make these patties. Place the vegetables and herbs into the food processor until they are all finely chopped. Transfer to a mixing bowl.

If you don’t have a food processor, you will have to finely chop up the cabbage and herbs and place into a mixing bowl.

Season with salt and black pepper and mix all the ingredients together very well. Taste to see if salt is adequate.

Add the flour and mix together. Add about a teaspoon of water and mix into the ingredients. You don’t want the mixture to be too moist. If so you will need to add more flour. Take about one ice cream scoop of the mixture and form into a ball. Set aside. Repeat until all the mixture is used up.

Flatten each ball into a circular shape and set aside. Repeat until all the balls are flatten.

Put a frying pan on the stove and allow it to hot. Add some oil and allow the oil to hot. Adjust flame to medium heat. Add the patties to the hot oil. Allow them to get golden brown on each side – about 3 minutes on each side.

  • 4 cups finely chopped cabbage
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

  1. Preparation: Begin by preparing the vegetables and herbs. If using a food processor, place the cabbage, garlic, onion, and parsley into the food processor and pulse until finely chopped. Alternatively, finely chop the cabbage and herbs by hand and transfer them to a mixing bowl.
  2. Seasoning: Season the chopped vegetables and herbs with salt and black pepper to taste. Mix well to ensure the seasoning is evenly distributed throughout the mixture. Taste to adjust seasoning if necessary.
  3. Adding Flour: Once seasoned, add the all-purpose flour to the mixture. Mix thoroughly until the flour is well incorporated. The flour helps bind the ingredients together and adds a slight crispiness to the patties.
  4. Forming Patties: If the mixture seems too dry, add a teaspoon of water and mix until combined. Take a portion of the mixture, about the size of an ice cream scoop, and form it into a ball. Repeat until all the mixture is used up. Then, flatten each ball into a circular shape and set aside.
  5. Cooking: Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add oil. Allow the oil to heat up before adding the patties. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties into the pan, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Cook the patties for about 3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve: Once cooked, remove the patties from the pan and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb any excess oil. Serve the cabbage patties warm as a delicious snack or side dish.
