These Air Fryer Carrots are cooked to be perfection until crispy tender. Flavored with spices, these Air Fryer carrots are super easy to make and make a great side dish or topping in your salad or power bowls. Roast them in the oven or air fry them in your electric pressure cooker using a crisp lid, you won’t be disappointed at all. Vegan

Ingredients

  • Carrots chopped, 1/2 lbs (5-6 medium sized carrots)
  • Chili powder 1/2 tsp 
  • sugar 1/2 tbsp
  • garlic salt 1 tsp 
  • butter / oil2 tbsp
  • cilantro

Instructions

Gather the carrots, seasonings, oil and air fryer. Thoroughly wash the carrots and cut them irregularly to get more edges. More like cutting them in the shape of V.  I don’t peel the carrots as they tend to have a bitter taste, but if you are in the habit of peeling carrots, you can. 

In a bowl throw in the carrots, butter or oil and seasonings and mix well, making sure they are coated well.

How to make Air Fryer Carrots?

  1. Line the fryer basket with an aluminium foil.
  2. Arrange the carrots in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure you do not over crowd the basket.
  3. Air Fry the carrots for 15 minutes at 390 F (200 C) until the edges start getting charred and crispy tender.
  4. Garnish and serve.  

How to Air Fry Carrots in Instant Pot using a Crisp Lid?

  1. Line the fryer basket with an aluminium foil. Arrange the carrots in a single layer in the frying basket.
  2. Place the frying basket on a trivet. Cover and secure the Instant Pot or Mealthy Multipot with the Crisp Lid.
  3. Air Fry the carrots for 15 minutes at 390 F (200 C) until the edges start getting charred and crispy tender.

How to roast these carrots in the oven?

  1. Preheat Oven at 390 F (200 C)
  2. Arrange the carrots on a baking sheet in a single layer 
  3. Roast the carrots in the oven at 390 F (200 C) for approximately 40 minutes, turning half way through until the edges are caramelized

Notes

Tips to make the best Air Fryer Carrots

  • Pick evenly sized carrots that are lean. These carrots were 1 inch thick in diameter. 
  • Wash them thoroughly to get rid of any dirt and avoid peeling to the extent possible. Sometimes peeling yields to bitter taste of the carrots. Plus you lose the layer of vitamin D on that carrot.
  • Cut them in a way to get as many edges possible. preferably in the shape of ‘V’
