Keto Pepper Steak Recipe

Ingredients:
1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
1 bell pepper, thinly sliced (you can use a mix of colors)
1 small onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup soy sauce (or coconut aminos for a gluten-free option)
2 tbsp olive oil (or avocado oil)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp xanthan gum (optional, for thickening)
Salt to taste
1/4 cup beef broth
Instructions:
Prepare the Beef:
In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper. Add the sliced beef and mix well. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Cook the Vegetables:
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onion and bell pepper. Sauté until the vegetables are tender-crisp, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the Beef:
In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the marinated beef to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
Combine and Thicken:
Return the cooked vegetables to the skillet with the beef. Add the beef broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.
If you want a thicker sauce, sprinkle the xanthan gum over the mixture and stir well. Allow it to simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Serve:
Season with salt if needed. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
