Layer 7: Toppings

  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Ground Beef:
    • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

    • In another bowl, mash the avocados until smooth.
    • Add lime juice, red onion, chopped cilantro, and season with salt and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Assemble the Layers:
    • In a large serving dish or a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer the ingredients in the following order:
      1. Spread the seasoned ground beef evenly over the bottom of the dish.
      2. Carefully spread the cream cheese mixture over the ground beef.
      3. Layer the guacamole over the cream cheese mixture.
      4. Spread the salsa evenly over the guacamole.

    • Serve immediately with keto-friendly chips, pork rinds, or fresh vegetables like celery sticks, cucumber slices, and bell pepper strips.

Tips:

  • Make Ahead: You can prepare the dip a few hours in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Add the shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and black olives just before serving to keep them fresh and crisp.
  • Taco Seasoning: For a homemade keto-friendly taco seasoning, mix together chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  • Variations: Feel free to customize the layers with your favorite ingredients, such as jalapeños for extra spice or radishes for a crunchy, low-carb addition.
