For this recipe you’ll need:
•500gr firm tofu •3tbsp soy sauce •1tsp tomato paste •1clove of garlic •1tsp ginger powder •1tsp coriander powder •1tsp chili flakes •1/2tbsp vinegar •50gr breadcrumbs •1tbsp paprika powder •oil for baking
Press as much water out of the tofu as possible. I first cut my tofu and then pressed it for about 20 minutes. I cut mine into thin strips but feel free to cut it anyway you like. For the marinade; mix the soy sauce, tomato paste, ginger powder, garlic, coriander powder, vinegar and chili flakes. Add half of the marinade to a shallow dish, add the tofu on top and spread the rest of the marinade on top. Let this marinade for about 30 minutes or overnight if you want. For the crispy layer; mix the breadcrumbs with the paprika powder and coat the tofu strips in this. It helps to use one hand to handle the sticky tofu and the other to handle the dry breadcrumbs so your fingers won’t get all sticky. Once the tofu is all coated add it to a pan with some oil and bake them for a few minutes on each side until crispy. Serve the tofu with some rice and veggies, enjoy!
