Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add the melted butter, sugar, salt, and egg to the yeast mixture. Stir until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
