DESCRIPTION

Epic delicious food couldn’t get any easier with this Air Fryer Pizza, making any night a pizza night! Load it up with anything you like.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pound (454g) store-bought pizza dough or 1 batch homemade pizza dough
  • ½ – 1 cup marinara or sauce of choice
  • Cheese of choice (see note 1)
  • Toppings of choice (we kept it simple with homemade vegan pepperoni)

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Note: How much dough you need will of course depend on the size of your air fryer, more specifically the diameter of the inside of your basket. We use a 5.5L (family size :D) air fryer and were able to make two 10-inch pizzas from both store-bought dough (we used Trader Joe’s) and our homemade dough recipe.
  2. Prep dough: Let dough sit for about 20-30 minutes after removing it from the refrigerator.
  3. Make a parchment paper liner: While the dough rests, make a parchment paper insert. This is important so the crust doesn’t stick to the air fryer and makes it easy to get out. We like to draw a circle that matches (or almost matches) the inside circumference of our air fryer basket. Then, what I like to do is draw 3” wide by 3-4” long ‘tabs’ on four sides of the circle. These tabs will help you lift the pizza out without hurting yourself or mushing the crust. Before using, though, trace this template onto cardstock and keep it so you can make liners quickly in the future so you can air fryer pizza more often. The shape can be a square if your air fryer basket is square, by the way. If you have an air fryer with racks, draw the inside size of the rack.
  4. Roll out the dough: Stretch or roll out the dough and create a little rolled or folded crust if desired. If the crust doesn’t want to stick, brush it with a tiny amount of water and press down lightly.
  5. Place in air fryer: Place the parchment paper insert into the air fryer basket and carefully transfer the rolled out dough to the inside. You may stretch the dough to reach the inner walls if desired.
  6. Get saucy: Add your sauce (don’t go too heavy or the crust will get soggy and the sauce will pool) and spread with the back of a spoon or a spatula.
  7. Add toppings: Just add your cheese and whatever toppings you like and place the basket (or rack) into the air fryer.
  8. Cook: Set the temperature for 350° Fahrenheit (177° Celsius) and cook for 10 minutes. Check it, and cook more if needed. We usually cook between 10 and 12 minutes. If the dough isn’t cooked enough, reduce the heat and cook for an additional few minutes. Note that if making multiple pizzas, every subsequent pizza after the first will cook faster since the air fryer is already heated, so check them at 8 minutes instead, or similar.
  9. Enjoy: When it’s finished cooking, simply use the tabs to pull the pizza up and transfer it to a cutting board or plate. Slide out the parchment paper before cutting the pizza–you can reuse it if making multiple pizzas in the same night (if not, make sure you trace it on cardstock to save time and effort later!). Enjoy pizza immediately!
  10. Store: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer (because why not) or enjoy cold leftover pizza (yum!).
